Chicago: Wicker Park pillow
Chicago: Wicker Park pillowAsk us a question
My own countrymen and women (Germans), along with Norwegians, made up the first residents of Wicker Park, one of Chicago's original industrial districts that started with a steel mill and Irish workers. Then came Jews and Poles, and many influential Chicago families. Today the hip Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhood is culturally diverse and bustling with trendy shops and eateries for all wallet sizes. From thrift stores to high-end boutiques, from Middle Eastern salad bars to Michelin Star-rated fine dining, from famous record stores to great live music venues, this community has it all. If you're ever there —maybe to enjoy a cocktail at a modern speakeasy, or tour a microbrewery — take a short walk up Milwaukee Avenue and pay a visit to the wonderful houses on Caton Street.
